With major investment and reform reshaping New Zealand’s water sector, the role of trenchless technology in delivering resilient, efficient and future-ready infrastructure will be firmly in focus at International No-Dig Auckland, taking place 28–29 October 2026 at the New Zealand International Convention Centre.
Bringing together leaders from across the water, infrastructure and trenchless sectors, the event will provide a platform to examine how New Zealand can address ageing networks while delivering the infrastructure needed for a growing population.
A key feature of the conference program will be The Road Ahead: Trenchless Technology in New Zealand’s Water Future, a panel discussion exploring how trenchless methods could support the next generation of water infrastructure.
Featuring representatives from Watercare, Selwyn Water, Veolia and Auckland Council, the panel will look at what lies ahead for New Zealand’s water networks and where trenchless technology can deliver the greatest impact. Discussions will cover upcoming projects, asset renewal and the need for infrastructure that is more efficient and resilient.
With the water sector undergoing significant change, the session will offer insight into how asset owners and infrastructure organisations are approaching future investment and where trenchless solutions can help overcome the challenges associated with upgrading existing networks.
The conference program will also feature a keynote from Lorraine Kendrick, Business Director – Water at Beca, titled “Water sector post reforms – opportunities and challenges in the new business environment”.
Alongside the keynote and panel discussions, International No-Dig Auckland will feature a program of abstract presentations showcasing the latest thinking, projects and practical applications across the trenchless industry. The presentations will provide attendees with insight into how trenchless techniques are being applied to real-world infrastructure challenges, from asset renewal and rehabilitation through to the delivery of new networks.
The exhibition will complement the conference program, bringing together leading technology providers, manufacturers, contractors and service providers from across the trenchless sector. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore the latest equipment, technologies and solutions while connecting directly with the organisations delivering trenchless projects across New Zealand and internationally.
International No-Dig Auckland will also mark the 40th anniversary of the International Society for Trenchless Technology (ISTT), providing an opportunity for the industry to come together and reflect on four decades of innovation while looking towards the future of underground infrastructure.
For water authorities, councils, engineers, contractors and infrastructure professionals, the event will provide a focused opportunity to understand where the sector is heading and how trenchless technology can contribute to the delivery of New Zealand’s future water networks.
